Welcome
HOUT BAY (also known as the Little Republic of Hout Bay) is situated outside of Cape Town in the Western Cape South Africa 30- 35 minute drive from Cape Town International.
It has many amenities available for the visiting tourist, apart from the usual shops and restaurants (some of which are located on the quayside) all of which are a 5minute drive away.
- Explore the lovely Hout Bay Harbour and beachfront boasting an endless array of things to do from endless arts stalls, incredible seafood restaurants and our attraction local “Fish and Chips” spots Many seals swim in the harbour and a huge tame seal is available for photo shots.
- The Bay Harbour Market, the focus will be on all things local from local vendors to local performances every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Contact No 084 370 5715)
- There are two fully equipped gymnasiums (all for the fitness fanatics) churches and a museum. Hout Bay also boasts the Hout Bay Bird Sanctuary Park for more than 3000 species of birds and is arguably the largest bird sanctuary park in Africa.
- Trips to the magnificent Seal Island (also known as Duiker Island) and home to many thousands of Cape Fur Seals depart from the Harbour every half hour. Trips last approx. 45 minutes,
Other activities include scenic drives along Chapmans Peak and a drive to Cape Point which is Africa’s Southern most point.
*Hout Bay is known to have one of the most extreme cliff high diving spots in the world.
*Mountainous hiking trails for the nature lover (Orange Kloof Mountain Hikes) (Local Contact no.: 021 – 6894441) with booking two weeks in advance.
*The Lichtenstein Castle is also a venue to visit and can be booked for weddings or other social functions (Local Contact no.: 082 8079741).
*Nola Muller an experienced equestrian is available to visitors who would like to explore scenic Hout Bay on horse- back (Local Contact no: 082 4099699).

HOUSE RULES
- No smoking is allowed in the apartments
- No Pets allowed.
- Damage and Incidentals , You will be responsible for any damage incurred to the rental property caused by you or your party during your stay
CAUTION:
- It is not recommended that elderly/infirm individuals or families with small children book as the nature of the location of the driveway is extremely steep.
- The power grid is currently under extreme pressure resulting in frequent power outages. Backup power is provided via a battery/invertor system. This will power a laptop and Television. The outages normally last for two hours.
